  • 4 The Manor at Penstowe Park is set in nearly 30 acres of parkland with the rugged north Cornish Heritage Coast close by and miles of rolling countryside.

  • Kilkhampton is a village which dates back to Saxon times. Here the remains of a 12th-century motte and bailey-style Norman castle can still be seen and the church of St James the Great is at least 450 years old. It is one of many churches dedicated to this saint on a pilgrims' route, which leads ultimately to Santiago (St James) de Compostela in northern Spain. The two pubs, the New Inn and the London Inn serve food and drink. There is also a Fish & Chip shop and Chinese Takeaway.

  • Lower Tamar Lake is predominantly managed as a nature reserve as it is popular with many wildfowl. There is a bird hide open to all and several picnic tables. The Bude Aqueduct Walk starts and finishes at Lower Tamar Lake for which a trail leaflet is available from the café.
